At approximately 8:43 a.m. on Wednesday Hobbs Police Department was dispatched to Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital in regards to a new born baby being found deceased in a patient bathroom.
The room was occupied by a juvenile who was accompanied by her mother.
The patient was discharged from the hospital without alerting staff of the delivery of the baby in the bathroom. Housekeeping later found the baby deceased, according to Hobbs Police Public Information Officer Reanna Alarcon.
Hobbs Police are investigating this incident and told the News-Sun they expect to release additional information later today.
