On Thursday at around 6:50 p.m. Lovington police officers responded to the scene of a two vehicle crash at 1005 S. Commercial.
When LPD officers arrived on the scene and observed a Ford truck, which allegedly traveling south on Commercial and a motorcycle traveling north on Commercial had crashed.
The truck was driven by Guadalupe Martinez of Trinidad, Colo. and the motorcycle was driven by Marco Vasquez of Lovington.
Vasquez was taken to Nor-Lea General Hospital for his injuries where he later died.
The crash scene is still under investigation and will be forwarded to the Lea County District Attorney’s officer for further review.
